Celebrate the Winter Solstice with a Yin Yoga practice followed by a nurturing Yoga Nidra.
Yin Yoga is a slower-paced practice where poses are held for longer, working into the deep tissues, joints and connective fascia in the body. We will begin by connecting with our breath, calming the nervous system. Using props to support and enhance our practice, we will move through a set of long-held poses. The challenge of this practice is to embrace stillness in the mind and body, making it the perfect pause during the busy festive season.
This will be followed by a restorative Yoga Nidra, guiding you through meditation, body scanning and visualisations. This is a practice for soothing the nervous system, helping you to find your inner calm.
The Winter Solstice is a time of gratitude and fellowship, of being grateful for things we have in life and within ourselves. Before closing the practice, I will invite you to participate in a gratitude exercise whilst coming together for an uplifting tea, leaving feeling rejuvenated.
